David Bernard, LCSW
My life experiences have reinforced my belief that, even in the most difficult circumstances, people possess unrealized strengths that can help them heal and move forward.
I became a therapist because I enjoy helping people. My role is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where we can work together to find your untapped capacity and to help you navigate and reach your treatment goals.
Before becoming a mental health professional, I spent several decades as a broadcast meteorologist covering some of the worst storms and disasters of our time. Witnessing people facing crisis, loss, resilience, and recovery has profoundly shaped my understanding of human struggle.
In preparation for my career as a therapist, I received my Master of Social Work degree from Tulane University. After having worked for two years as a clinician at Tulane University’s Department of Psychiatry, I opened my own private practice.
If you are interested in working with me, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to discuss your goals and answer any questions you may have.
